Boho Shared Toddler Room

UPDATE: I have had a TON of people reach out regarding where I got the bunk bed. You can find it here!

I have a girl and boy sharing one room. My oldest, Scarlette, is very girly. JJ, my middle child, is a wild little boy. They have shared a room since JJ was about a year and a half old and they really do love it. I wanted them to have a stylish room without it being the typical pink for girls and blue for boys.

Boho was the end result.

At first, I was a little hesitant. Doing black in a toddler room has been considered a faux pas but it turned out wonderfully. Adding greenery with neutrals always warms up a space. Having a cozy room was super important to me too, especially for my toddlers!

You can’t see much of the curtains but they are long and heavy black, blackout curtains I bought from Kohls. I struggled finding curtains long enough for this room because Our ceilings are VERY high in this bedroom. Kohls came in for the win for price and quality!

We love MELISSA AND DOUG toys!

These pillows! I can’t get over them!

I bought these pillow covers from Amazon. They came in a FIVE pack. All of the prints were exactly what I was going for in their room too. Aztec, tribal, boho. Whatever you want to call it! I LOVE them.

The pillow inserts were also purchased on Amazon for a great price! You can find those here. I bought the 18×18 and they fit the cases perfectly.

I even threw in a little Chip & Jo.

You can figure out what came from Hearth and Hand, right? I’m sure you guessed it – that gorgeous wreath is from Hearth and Hand at Target. I actually have two in my house because I love them so much.

BEST QUILTS EVER

I searched high and low for black and white matching quilts. Usually, I could find the white quilt but most places didn’t carry a black match. If they did carry a black, it was out of stock.

I finally lucked out on probably page 27 of Overstock.com and found these for $35! They offer an array of colors but most importantly to me, they had white AND black!

These nightstands came from Hobby Lobby a couple years ago. Each time I go back though, it looks like they have added to the collection and are still selling a variation of it.

Across the room is the little reading nook. I like to mix things up often with my decor so for the kids room, I love having a chalk board in there. When I get tired of the display, I erase it and add something else.

Don’t you want to just sit on those poufs?

Yeah, apparently that’s what they’re called. I had no idea until I tried finding them. These sweet Jute Poufs are a favorite with my kiddos. They sit on them, jump on them, roll on them. Literally everything you can think of, they do it. Having a shared room has it’s perks, right?

Oh! And how could I forget the tribal rug! I struggled finding exactly what I wanted with this. It is a huge accent to the room and it needed to be just right. The one I originally found was over $100. For the kids room! Nope.

You can find one similar here. I got the 3×5 and it’s a great fit for the center of the room accent.

What do you think? Would you do a Boho room? Would you do a SHARED toddler room?

I’d love for you to share! Also, if you subscribe to my email list you will get a a heads up as I post updates on our new home. We are updating it room by room and I can’t wait for the end result!

    Hello,

How big is the room? And also, do you have a bookshelf somewhere in the room or not? I am trying to do a makeover for my son’s room and I love how yours turned out.
    Thank you!

HI!! This room is a bigger than average room in my opinion. It’s probably a 10×12! I don’t have a bookshelf in there but I recently added a COUCH (can’t believe I am even saying that!) but it is adorable and I have their bedside tables next to the couch and could easily throw a bookshelf around there!!
