Hi! I’m Aften: a child of God, wife to my smokin’ hot hubby, and mama of 3 babes under 3 years old. I see you have come to read a little about me! There are many words I could use to describe myself. I find I am ever changing and always trying to grow (queue the plethora of “self-help” books I have read). I work from home as a financial analyst and have always had a passion for writing and creating beautiful spaces. This is why I created Living Liesel. I’ll admit, I can work tirelessly sometimes trying to get a room or space just right. It might take the right piece of decor, rearranging furniture, or staring endlessly into the empty space. That’s the thing though, I won’t stop until it’s perfect.
When I was newly married, my husband and I bought a house that needed a LOT of work. Everyone was skeptical of the purchase. I remember the lack of support we had because it was a “big project” and “going to cost too much” – which it was a big project and it did cost a lot but with a little favor and a lot of work, we flipped the house and made a pretty penny. Since those short 5 years, we have bought 7 houses.
I’m here to give you real world examples about how to create desirable spaces in your home. The best part, it’s from an average, middle-class family.
