Ravenstone – Before

This is our Ravenstone home. It’s house #5 for us and I am THRILLED to be living here. Let me bring you up to speed on me and my family:

Bryce and I got married in 2013 – high school sweethearts, woohoo! We bought our first house in 2014 in Castle Rock, flipped it over 9 months (unintentionally), moved to Texas, bought a foreclosure Meredith Lane (kind of on accident), flipped that one (unintentionally again) over a year, moved back to Colorado and bought a short sale.

We flipped the Colorado short sale intentionally but it was our longest flip (so far) because we had two kids. The short sale was our Ross Lake home. That house took 2 years while we lived in it.

After all this flipping and hard work, we decided to buy a new build home – Morning Breeze. We picked the finishes all the way down to the paint. After moving into it, just 3 short months later, we sold it and moved back to Texas. Hello Ravenstone Home!

Houses #6 and #7 are our rental properties that I don’t suspect we will ever live in, but I have said crazier things before and they have happened so I will bite my tongue.

Back to Ravenstone

Now that you’re up to speed on this wild adventure we are constantly living, scroll through and look at our Ravenstone house!

Funny story about this house though – I saw this house the day it hit the MLS but we didn’t make an offer on it for almost 6 weeks.

I remember yelling for Bryce to come look at it and I scrolled through their pictures over and over again. I kept saying how perfect it was for us. He was not enthused considering we had a 2 month old baby and had just moved 2 and a half months prior.

“WE SHOULD MAKE AN OFFER ON THIS HOUSE, IT’S PERFECT FOR US.”

He responded with an “It’s not the right time” and asked if I was upset.

I really wasn’t upset. I wasn’t bothered one bit. Why?

I told him “God will provide this house for our family.” – I spoke it and firmly believed it.

6 weeks later, we were ready to move forward. We did a Facetime tour with our Realtor, and made an offer that day. Fast forward another 30 days and we were walking in the house and I was taking the pictures below. Thank you, Jesus!

We love the open layout of this house. It’s got 4 bedrooms and a study making it perfect for our 3 kids and home office.

We intend on painting everything a bright white and replacing the laminate with a white oak flooring.

The kitchen will keep the layout but we will replace cabinetry with white shaker style doors and replace the granite with a white quartz countertop. Still deciding on the backsplash so if you have thoughts, scroll to the bottom and give me your ideas!!

All light fixtures will be replaced along with any fans. We want to do a french cottage style home with gold accents. I also want a delicate gold chandelier over the small dining nook.

The master bedroom above will get paint, carpet and a new fan.

We will gut the bathroom. I fell in love with having a free standing tub in our Ross Lake house so we will definitely replace the tub here with one.

This is one of the kid rooms. New paint, carpet, and updated wainscoting. I’m wanting a boho shared room for our older kids in this room.

We also have a butler’s pantry with a coffee bar, mud room, study (that’s the playroom for us), and two other bedrooms – one being the nursery and one being our office.

What are your thoughts?
