A Gift Guide for the DIY-er

Finding the right gift for your loved ones may not be as easy as it sounds. But with this gift guide for people who DIY, you’ll be able to find exactly what they will use AND love!

If you’re stuck on what to get your loved one on your list, I have the best gift guide for guys who DIY!

Gift Guide

Ryobi Combo Kit – If you are willing to splurge, this combo kit is a perfect gift for a DIY-er. It’s got the a regular drill, circular saw, impact driver, reciprocating saw, work light, jobplus base with multi-tool attachment, and two lithium ion batteries. This was one of the first Christmas gifts I got my husband when we first got married and every single tool still works after flipping 4 houses.

Level – You can’t expect to DIY things evenly without a level! This is a great stocking stuffer too!

Tool BeltI used to think tool belts were overrated… until my husband bought one. The amount of time saved when working on a project just by having the tools and items you need literally ON you with your tool belt is unmatched. Tool belts have a slot for a hammer, pockets for small stuff like screws or nails, clip holders for ryobi or other power tools. It’s amazing.

Tape Measure – This laser tape measure does it all. It’s got a magnetic hook, attached screw driver, nylon coating, and even an LCD screen. This would have been helpful for me during my window covering measuring oops! (more to come on that one…)

Miter Saw – Here is another splurge but totally necessary if you or your DIY-er are planning on any wood projects. This miter saw is the gift that keeps on giving… and living. Ours has been solid for about 7 years now.

Wood Glue – Another stocking stuffer! We buy wood glue by the gallon in this house. You can never have enough. The Titebond wood glue will hold strong even if the wood doesn’t. I’ve actually split wood without breaking the adhesion in the glue. Amazing.

Ryobi Cordless Nailer – We have used this cordless nailer with almost every major renovation or build. It’s a lifesaver when swapping out baseboards or adding shiplap. We choose Ryobi because the Lithium Ion batteries are interchangeable and last forever. If you get the Ryobi Combo Kit above, this one would fit right in and you can use the other batteries!

Steel Toe Work Boots – Another underrated item that all DIY-ers should have. Steel Toe Work Boots prevent your toes from getting smashed. I even own some steel toe work boots because of the many times I’ve dropped wood or other heavy garage tools on my toes in sneakers!

Orbital Sander – We have a Makita Orbital sander and I honestly don’t know what I would do without it… Sand by hand? HA! Sanding is my husband and I’s least favorite thing to do. That being said, you have GOT to have a good sander and the price isn’t too bad either for all the time you save!
