Last year, we had about 10 different life changes happening all at once.
We had recently had our third baby (holy crap that was a rude awakening), we sold two houses, moved twice, and then decided to move states to the great state of Texas!
Long story short, I was not thrilled about the holidays. I hardly decorated!
THIS year on the other hand, I am READY. So ready that I put fall decor on my porch in August.
I don’t care. Do you?
If you follow me on Instagram, you may know that I like to keep it simple. I went through many phases in life where I bought the sale stuff and in turn, collected a lot of junk.
I have since learned:
Quality over Quantity.
I also have made efforts to have a minimalist approach, meaning I want my décor to be multipurpose.
This is a somewhat new practice for me as I go into the holidays so I’ll let you know how that goes lol!
Here are some pictures of my simple and neutral fall front porch:
I used the same hanging ribbon I had on my summer wreath for my lambs ear wreath. I thought I would need to cut a new piece but it was still a perfect fit for the smaller wreath.
Y’all also know I love black.
I did swap out my front door mat underneath for a heavier duty mat that will be in place through the fall and winter. Maybe even spring if I can swing it right!
My summer olive tree made it’s way to my back porch and will stay put until I want it back up front!
Multipurpose people!
What do you think? Do you prefer to keep it simple or do you love to decorate everywhere?
I’ll probably add a few fall pieces inside when it’s a bit closer to true Fall! Of course, I’ll share!
Upcoming (or in progress) projects include the kitchen remodel, which entails cabinet refacing, painting, countertops, backsplash, appliances… the whole nine yards. Ready for that one to be done with. If you want to see the “before” of the kitchen, check out my post here!
Until next time!
So simple and elegant! And i agree with you on quality over quantity. Also black is my fav 🙂 Thanks for sharing friend!
Thank you so much! It’s taken me a long time to realize my home doesn’t have to look like Fall puked on it to be festive!
Moving to San Antonio, TX in 2 weeks! Exact same size front porch on the new house. I am at a loss of what to do with so little room. Thanks for the ideas! Keep em coming! ❤️
Thank you so much!! My tiny front porch is one of the few things I don’t love about this house! And HOORAY! Welcome to Texas!!
